Description
Nos 1 and 2 Riverside Cottages, including the adjoining one-storey building, date from the early 19th century. They are constructed of red brick and feature wide eaves and a slate roof. The cottages are two storeys high and each has two early 19th century casement windows with glazing bars, while the ground floor windows have cambered heads. The centre of each cottage has a door. The one-storey extension at the south-west end, which may have been a former blacksmith's shop or used for industrial purposes, has two windows, including one large window with five wooden mullions, and centre double doors, all with cambered head linings. The buildings are prominently located in the village centre and form a group.
