Description

Daffodil Cottage comprises two cottages dating to the late 18th century and early 19th century. The cottages are constructed of red brick with a pantile roof. The original, late 18th-century section is a single-storey, two-bay cottage, with a two-storey, two-bay range attached at right angles to the rear. The front facing the road has a central entrance door flanked by 12-pane side-sliding sash windows, each with a flat brick arch. The eaves are stepped, with brick coping, and there is an end stack to the right. The left return side features a central entrance door with a cambered brick arch, as well as 12-pane side-sliding sash windows throughout. End and ridge stacks are also present. This cottage represents a rare example within the area of a previously common building type.
