The ground floor shops along Westover Road are characterized by a verandah-loggia projecting over the pavement, featuring Corinthian colonnettes, a fascia with an egg-and-dart cornice, and an Arts and Crafts balustrade with downward-curving sweeps within openwork pilasters. Numbers 13 to 17 on Gervis Road share the same balustrade and fascia, however, they include pendants. Hudson's grocery shop, formerly at number 13, originally had a notable front with arched glazing bars and tiling, although this was removed in 1974.
