Description
Monks Revel is an early 19th-century Regency house located on the west side of Salisbury Road in Winkton. The building is constructed of painted brick with a roughcast street elevation and features a hipped, double-span slate roof with brick stacks. It stands two storeys tall and has four sash windows with glazing bars. Above the entrance door, there is a small figure in a niche on the first floor. The doorway is adorned with a segmental, bracketed wooden hood and plain side pilasters, and it includes a fanlight and a six-panelled door, of which the top two panels are now glazed. Monks Revel and Gosfield Cottage are part of a group that includes Holmefield College and the listed cottages opposite, with Holmefield College and Winkton Lodge Cottage recognized as buildings of local interest.
