Description
These are an 18th- or early 19th-century pair of adjoining cottages located on the east side of Salisbury Road. They have a shared slate roof. Kimbolton Cottage is slightly more forward than St Anne's Cottage, and its facade is red brick with grey brick headers. Both cottages are two storeys high and have four windows in total. The first-floor windows are sash windows with glazing bars and stuccoed lintels. Each cottage has one matching ground-floor window, and an additional angular bay with arched lights; Kimbolton Cottage’s bay has a cornice. Kimbolton Cottage also has a contemporary wooden porch with arched side lights, and a round-arched entrance to the rear. St Anne’s Cottage features a door with a segmental hood supported by brackets, which is likely a reproduction.
The cottages form a group with Holmefield College, Winkton Lodge Cottage, Clifton Cottage, Willow Cottage, and Bumble Bee Cottage, along with Monks Revel and Gosfield Cottages located opposite.
