Description

Hunstrete House, including its flank wall and east wing, is a house built in the 18th century. It features ashlar and rubble construction with slate hipped roofs, forming a U-shape. The entrance front has two storeys with seven sash windows; the larger ground floor windows cut through the cill band. Off-centre to the right is a reset mid-18th century doorcase with a curved pediment that displays a coat of arms and swags, flanked by pilasters and a moulded round arch. Above this is a plat band and a plain parapet.

On the left garden elevation, there are two storeys with nine sash windows; the first three match those on the main front, and the parapet sweeps down, interrupted by two plat bands. The ground floor features a cill band. A roughly 2-meter high rubble wall connects the main block to the hipped east wing, which has two storeys and two sash windows on a cill band below, with six-pane sashes above, a plat band, and a parapet. The return elevation has six windows that have been altered to paired sashes. Inside the courtyard formed by a 20th-century low wing, the main block displays a large stairhead tri-partite window, though much of the interior has been altered.
