Description
Co-operative House is a former rectory that underwent remodelling around 1800, incorporating older buildings. It stands three storeys tall with a front made of Bath stone ashlar and features a slate roof with coped verges. To the left, there is an ashlar-based chimney. The front has two windows with two lights and square mullions; the windows on the second floor are smaller and consist of sheet glass sashes, some of which have margin lights, while the second floor also has casements. A fire escape is located to the right.
To the right, there is a two-storey mid-19th century extension made of limestone rubble, which has two windows and corniced windows on the ground floor. The south gable end features a door with a bracketed flat hood. At the rear, there is a three-storey, two-bay wing from the early 18th century, constructed of roughly coursed limestone rubble, with coped verges to the west and a moulded capping on the chimney. This wing has two and three light windows with a combination of ovolo and square mullions that have edge-rolls. The interior of the building has been extensively modernised.
