Description
The parish boundary post located in the wall by the Lam Bridge is a Grade II listed structure dated 1827. It is made of cast iron and features a flat back that is attached to the wall. The front of the post is marked with the names "WALCOT" and "SWAINSWICK" to indicate the respective parishes. Additionally, the area between these names is marked with "BATH TURNPIKE TRUST 1827." The base of the post is currently obscured by tarmac. This post is part of a series of parish boundary markers established by the Bath Turnpike Trust in 1827, under the supervision of surveyor John Loudon McAdam, who worked from 1826 to 1836.
