Description
Avondale is a house dating from the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed of ashlar, with a slate roof hidden behind a parapet. The house features end pilasters and is arranged over three storeys, with three bays. It has glazing bar sash windows, a cill band below the first and second floors, and the ground floor windows are set within shallow semi-circular headed recesses. The central entrance features a six-panel door surmounted by a decorative fanlight, set within a stone doorcase with pilasters and a plain entablature, all within a shallow recess. This building has group value owing to its contribution to the architectural character of the area.
