Description
Stoneleigh Cottage is an early 19th-century cottage built from ashlar limestone and topped with a slate gambrel roof. The building has a rectangular plan and features a flying freehold to the south-west, which is contained under the neighbouring Spring Cottage.
The exterior consists of two bays and two storeys, with a single attic dormer above. The steeply pitched gambrel roof has a stone chimney stack located at its centre. The principal façade, facing south-east, includes a 20th-century wooden door on the left and a six-over-six pane horned sash window on the right. There are two additional six-over-six horned sash windows at the first-floor level, accompanied by a plat band below. Most of the sash windows appear to date from the late 19th century, except for the six-over-six sash in the attic dormer, which may be older. The building extends to the left of the entrance door to form a flying freehold with the adjacent structure, featuring a vent in this section within a stone surround, but no additional windows.
The interior has not been inspected.
