Description

The archway and door to the premises of Millet and Smith, builders and decorators, is a gateway that was formerly part of The Old Manor House. It dates from the mid-19th century and is constructed from rubble and ashlar. The gateway features a four-centred arch lintel and a panelled Gothic door. Above the door, there is a band and capping that is topped with a lion couchant. This feature originally lay over the entrance between the stores and outbuilding on the north-west side of High Street.
