Description
Pitt's Farmhouse is an early 19th-century farmhouse with later alterations, located on Knowle Hill in Chew Magna. The building is rendered and features a slate roof with deep eaves supported by wooden corbels, along with external gable stacks. It has two storeys and three windows, all of which are two-light casements with six panes each; the windows on the first floor are smaller. Each window has wooden lintels and hood moulds. The central entrance is a 20th-century half-glazed door, also with a similar lintel and hood mould.
On the left side of the building, there is a ground floor 16-pane light and a similar casement on the first floor, along with a blind cinquefoil in the gable end and a cellar door with a four-centred arched head. The right side features a small two-light casement at ground floor level in a rear addition. The rear of the farmhouse includes a contemporary two-storey addition with a pitched roof, which has two similar casements under the eaves without hood moulds, and the ground floor has two two-light casements and a central single light casement. A 20th-century porch is attached to the right side. The interior has not been inspected.
