Description

This detached villa was built around 1860. It is constructed from limestone ashlar with a concrete tile roof. The building has a compact design, with a recessed entrance bay to the right and a slight offset to the left. The sloping site allows for a full extra floor at the rear.

It is two storeys high, with a lower ground floor. All the windows are plain plate glass sashes, arranged in pairs. The first floor windows have sills on brackets, while the ground floor windows have a moulded cornice hood supported on console brackets, forming a platband that runs around the building. The right side of the property features a recessed entrance with an original four-panel door and a plain fanlight within a plat arch, topped with a keystone and impost band. The left return side is plain, with two eaves stacks. The right side also has two eaves stacks which are corbelled out from the first floor. The rear elevation includes two sashes at the first floor and single and paired sashes at the ground floor; the lower ground floor is not visible. The property is approached by arch-headed gate piers with incised ornament. The interior has not been inspected. The building is included on the list for its contribution to the group value of the area.
