Description
This detached villa, built around 1875, is a two-storey and attic structure with three bays, featuring polished ashlar stone. The windows have pilastered jambs, and there are steps leading up to a central doorpiece that is also pilastered and corniced. The vestibule door is made of oak and includes leaded coloured glass panels with figurative designs. Above the door is a single-light window, and there are two-storey bay windows on either side: a square bay on the left that rises to a gable with an arched attic window, and a bow window on the right topped with a conical slate roof. The villa has sash windows with plate glass glazing, a mutule cornice, and steeply pitched slate roofs that feature corniced axial stacks and a central wallhead scrolled stack with decorative incised flues. A centrally placed cupola adds to the architectural interest. The rear and flanks are finished in stugged ashlar, and there is a corniced oriel window on the eastern flank. The garden wall is made of droved ashlar and is topped with a corniced coping, with gatepiers that are also corniced.
