Description

This is a row of six terrace houses, numbers 14 to 18, located on the east side of Trafalgar Road in Weston. Built in the early 19th century, the houses are stepped downhill from number 14. They are constructed from coursed limestone rubble with freestone dressings, and have double-pitched pantile roofs with moulded stacks to the party walls and gable ends. The houses have double-depth plans with later rear additions.

The terrace is two and three storeys high, with each house originally having a single window to the front. Low coped parapets and cornices are present, although the cornices have been removed from numbers 16 and 17. The windows are two-light sash windows. Number 14 has three storeys with paired four/four-pane sash windows, some with crown glass, and a six-panel door glazed to the top, sheltered by a stone hood with a dentil edge on shaped brackets. Number 15 is similar, but incorporates French windows, and has a fine cast iron balcony with lead ornaments to the first floor. Number 16 has two storeys with a similar door and chamfered architraves. Number 17 has a 20th-century door and metal windows. Number 18 is also similar, with plate glass sash windows, the ground floor window having been widened. The interiors have not been inspected.
