Description
5 High Street is an attached house that dates back to the early 18th century, with a refronting from the early 19th century. The building is constructed of coursed rubble and features dressed stone quoins, stone dressings, and copings. It has a gabled pantile roof with a brick stack at the west end set on a stone base.
The house has a double-depth plan and is two stories high with a single-window range. The doorway is located to the right, with windows to the left. On the ground floor, there is a two-light plain mullion window with single-light wooden sashes, while the first floor has a mid-20th century metal-frame window, both set within stone architraves. The doorway features a plain architrave with a flat stone hood supported on brackets, and it has a plank door with a rectangular light.
The building is part of a group with Nos 7-13 High Street.
