Description

Nos. 7 and 9 High Street are a pair of semi-detached houses dating from the early 18th century, with a late 18th-century front and 19th-century alterations. The buildings are constructed of coursed rubble with dressed stone quoins, ashlar dressings, and ashlar copings. They feature a gabled pantile roof, which has a stone stack at the west gable end, a ridge brick stack on a stone base, and an east end brick stack on a stone base.

The houses have a double-depth plan and are three stories high with two-window ranges. No. 7 has modern plate-glass sash windows on the right, all set in flush stone surrounds with sills. To the left, there is a panelled, recessed doorway with a relieving arch above and a wrought-iron, glazed hood. No. 9 has identical windows on the right, with two on the ground floor and single openings on the upper floors. To the left, there is a part-glazed mid-20th-century panelled door with a wooden gabled hood.

The interior has not been inspected. The building has group value with the adjacent No. 5 High Street and Nos. 11 and 13 High Street.
