Description

Beach House, built in 1820 by J B Rebecca and originally named Marino Mansion, is a two-story building with an attic and basement, featuring three windows. The exterior is stuccoed and includes a cornice and parapet. The central portion of the building projects slightly and is topped with a pediment. The windows are framed, with a central window featuring an entablature above. A three-section porch is supported by Doric pilasters. The south front has a curved bay containing three windows, topped with a parapet, and Venetian shutters on the first floor. The east front, also curved, has a single window and a ground-floor projection. A later addition of two windows exists on the west side of the building. The Edward Knoblock, a dramatist, resided here for several years and was responsible for the "Regency" style interior decoration.
