Description
The Red Lion Inn is a public house that was originally two houses, built around 1830. The front elevation is made of red brick in Flemish bond, featuring mathematical tiling on the curved bays, while the side elevation showcases red and grey chequerwork brick set on a sandstone plinth. The building has a hipped slate roof with tall end chimney stacks and stands two storeys high with four windows. The two outer windows are curved bays on both floors, featuring tripartite sashes with 28 panes, also adorned with mathematical tiles. The remaining windows are 16-pane sashes with moulded architraves. The former southern house includes a narrow Tuscan porch, while the former northern house displays a public house front with Tuscan pilasters and a doorcase.
