Description
The Manor House is a Grade II* listed house located on the west side of High Street in Lindfield. It features an 18th-century front that is attached to a house from the 16th century or earlier. The building is likely timber-framed, with the east front covered in painted mathematical tiles and the north front made of sandstone. It has a slate roof with clustered brick chimney stacks at either end.
The house is two storeys tall with attics and has three windows. A deep modillion cornice runs above the first floor, which has three gables. The first floor includes a central Venetian window, flanked by two centered bays on both floors that retain their glazing bars and have pediments above them. There is a central projecting porch supported by wooden piers, which features a pediment and is flanked by 12-pane sash windows. The entrance has a rusticated doorcase with a six-fielded panelled door, accessed by five steps. To the right side, there is a single-storey 19th-century extension. Interior inspection was not permitted at the time of the survey.
