CUCKFIELD LYOTH LANE TQ 32 SE 17/667 Lyoth Cottage II

House. Early Cl7 2-bay timber-framed house extended by 1 bay in early C20 and with C20 fenestration. End 2 bays to left have exposed framing with midrail and painted brick infill on part sandstone plinth. Right hand bay has C19 brickwork. Old tiled roof with end brick chimneystacks. 2 storeys; 4:3 windows. 4 C20 metal framed casements with leaded lights. Ground floor has right side 3-light oriel. C20 boarded door and gabled limber-framed and plastered weatherhood on 2 wooden piers. Outshut to rear. Interior has early Cl? wide bressumer to inglenook with spice cupboards. Interior: former rear wall has curved tension braces and original diamond mullioned window to let floor and mortises for diamond mullions to ground floor. Further curved tension braces at junction of timber-framed part with C20 extension.
