Description

Colwell House is a house built around 1840 in the Neo-Classical style. The main part of the building is two storeys high and is finished in stucco, topped with a hipped slate roof that features a bracket eaves cornice. The façade includes three 8-pane sash windows set in moulded architraves with feet below, while the ground floor windows are tripartite and topped with pediments. A central porch is supported by fluted Doric columns and accessed via five stone steps. There is a two-storey extension to the northwest, which has a lower elevation and consists of two bays. The southeast garden elevation features a tented canopy. Inside, the house contains period fireplaces and a staircase with stick balusters.
