Description
Cuckfield House is a house, now offices, dating from the early 19th century, and restored around 1980. It is constructed of red brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with a tiled roof and a wooden portico. The building comprises two parallel ranges, presenting two storeys and an attic, with a facade of four windows. Four sash windows are present, three of which are tripartite with gauged and rubbed brick heads. A portico is located centrally, featuring Tuscan columns and incised lines to the frieze. The doorcase is round-headed, incorporating a semi-circular fanlight and a four-panelled door. A modern, single-storey extension is situated on the right-hand side, constructed of brick with a tiled roof, and is not of particular interest. The left side elevation features a three-storey splayed bay. Internally, a staircase is present, characterised by two stick balusters to each tread and a turned newel post.
