Description

Rose Cottage is a house and former surgery dating from the early 19th century. It has been altered in the 20th century, but is said to incorporate a brick dating to 1720. The building is constructed of red brick with a tiled roof, forming an L-shaped plan with two storeys and originally three window bays, the central one being a doorway. It features 16-pane sash windows with cambered heads and gauged brick arches. A central doorcase has a flat hood supported by brackets, a semi-circular fanlight, panelled reveals, pilasters, and a six-fielded panelled door. Two sashes are present on the left-hand wing. Inside, there is a plain early 19th-century staircase.
