Description

The gazebo and wall to the north and east of Cuckfield Park date from the mid-19th century. The structure features a small octagonal brick gazebo with a cemented domed roof, which has three arched openings that provide views of the surrounding countryside. Attached to the gazebo is a brick wall approximately 9 feet high, built in English Garden Wall Bond, which extends in an L-shape. On the southwest side, the wall includes a series of pilasters and two central square brick piers topped with stone cornices. There is also a section of cast-iron spear railings with a pedestrian gate that leads into the kitchen garden. The wall transitions to sandstone with brick coping on the southwest side.
