Description
Ye White Harte Inn is a 17th century timber-framed building that originally consists of three bays. It was refronted and had an additional bay and a projecting gabled section added in 1881. The ground floor is pebble-dashed, while the first floor is tile hung. The building has a tiled roof that is half-hipped at the right end and features two storeys with attics. A central 17th century brick chimney stack is present, along with an external brick chimney stack on the right side. There is one gabled dormer and the windows are arranged irregularly, including two 19th century casements and one sash window. The gable displays a plaque depicting a White Harte along with the initials 'H W' and the date '1881'. The modified Venetian windows are located below simple doorcases. Inside, the inn contains an early 17th century spine beam with lamb's tongue stops and an inglenook fireplace with a sandstone base.
