Description

Valentine Cottage is a 17th-century cottage that has been altered in the 20th century. The street-facing elevation is made of painted brick, while the side elevation is tile hung, topped with a hipped tiled roof. The building has two storeys and a semi-basement, positioned end on to the street. It features a cogged eaves cornice and one casement window. The right-hand doorcase has a moulded architrave and a 20th-century gabled weather hood supported by wooden piers. The door is a three-panel design with a lion's head doorknocker, and there are seven steps leading up to street level, accompanied by modern iron railings. The side elevation includes two modern casement windows, and there is a 20th-century flat-topped extension at the rear, which is not considered of special interest.
