Description
Causeway Lodge is a house that was likely built between 1665 and 1672 and was refronted and altered internally around 1720. It has a timber frame sitting on a random stone plinth, with a plastered front and a Horsham slab roof featuring wide eaves. There is an off-central brick chimney stack set behind the ridge. The building has two storeys and an attic, with five windows and one dormer. The windows are 12-pane sashes set in reveals with keystones above. The central doorcase is flanked by pilasters, has a flat hood above, and features an 8-panel moulded door. Causeway Lodge is part of a significant group of listed buildings in The Causeway, which also includes those in Market Square and South Street.
