Description

This is an 18th-century building comprising a Georgian Priory, No. 5 Westgate, and Nos. 2 and 3 The Courtyard. It was previously listed under different names.

The main building is two storeys high with five windows. It has a tiled hipped roof with lead ridges and a cornice with projecting modillions. The exterior is red brick, with the central portion slightly projecting and featuring a pediment above containing a circular ornament. The sash windows have flat arches within the reveals, with rubbed brick voussoirs and intact glazing bars. The doorway has Doric columns and a pediment, with a door featuring tracery and six panels. A red brick extension to the west also has two storeys and three windows. Its tiled roof has lead ridges, and a continuous frontage with slightly lower windows. It features a small modillion eaves cornice, sash windows with intact glazing bars, and slightly segmental arches above the windows and flat arches below.
