Description
Priory House, also known as The Ship Hotel Annexe, is an 18th-century building located on the north side of Guildhall Street. It stands three storeys tall and features five windows. The building has a red tiled hipped roof and a cemented exterior. A cornice with dentils runs below the eaves. The sash windows are set in flat arches, with smaller windows on the second floor, and all glazing bars remain intact.
A flight of three steps, flanked by iron handrails with urn finials, leads to the doorway. This entrance is adorned with Doric pilasters and a rectangular pediment, and the door is set within panelled reveals. Above the door is a semi-circular fanlight with tracery. To the east of the steps, there is a small area enclosed by iron railings and gates, which also feature urn finials.
