Description

Nos 36 and 38 on Westgate are 18th-century buildings that share a continuous roofline with Nos 40 and 42. They are two storeys tall with an attic, featuring one dormer each; No 36 has a hipped dormer while No 38 has a flat-roofed dormer. The buildings have sash windows with flush boxes, although No 38 has later 19th-century windows with missing glazing bars. The exterior is stuccoed, and there is a band above the ground floor on No 36. The entrance to No 36 includes a doorcase with fluted pilasters and a rectangular pediment above, with a door set in reveals that has its top panels cut away and glazed. No 38 features a doorway with a moulded frame and a flat hood above. Nos 16 to 48 (even) are part of a group.
