Description
Fernhurst Lodge is an early 19th-century house located on St Paul's Road. It has two storeys, an attic, and a basement with an area. The front is finished in stucco, while the sides are constructed of red brick with alternating grey headers. The building features three windows, with wide moulded frames; the first-floor windows have cornices above them, although the ground floor lacks glazing bars. The hipped gable has a cornice and includes one window. The roof is covered with slate.
On the first floor, there is a balcony supported by four slender columns from the ground floor, with modern wooden railings added. The space between the two central columns has been enclosed with wood to create a porch. The entrance includes a rectangular fanlight and a six-panel moulded door. To the south-west, the house adjoins the north-western terrace of houses on Washington Street.
