Description
St Martin's House is a 17th century timber-framed building that was refronted with red brick and grey headers around 1680. It features a tiled roof with gable ends on the sides and stands two storeys tall with five windows. The exterior includes long and short stone quoins and a plinth, a brick stringcourse above the ground floor, and a wooden cornice with modillions beneath the eaves. The windows are sash types set in frames. There is a brick porch with two archways, the inner one being recessed, and a terracotta keystone above the outer arch that displays armorial bearings. A north-south wing is located behind the house, facing the east side of St Martin's Square. St Martin's House is part of a group with Nos 1, 2, 3, 20, and 21, alongside No 6 Lion Street.
