Description
No 20 St Martin's Square is an 18th-century building that stands two storeys high with an attic and features three windows. It is constructed of red brick, with the central portion slightly projecting and showcasing a Venetian window on the first floor, topped by a gable resembling a pediment. The other windows are sash windows with thick glazing bars, and there are two dormers present. A stringcourse runs above the ground floor, and a cornice with modillions is positioned above the first floor, extending into the gable and returning over brick pilasters. The doorway is adorned with Doric pilasters, a moulded frieze, and a pediment, while the door itself has six fielded panels, with the top two being cut away and glazed. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 1, 2, 3, 20, and 21, which collectively form a significant architectural ensemble with No 6 Lion Street.
