Description

St Mary's Hospital is a Grade I listed building located on the east side of St Martins Square. It consists of almshouses for women, featuring a gatehouse and a hall and chapel that date back to the 14th century. In 1680, chimneys and small dwelling houses with two rooms each were added within the hall. The building boasts a remarkable open timber roof supported by massive wooden posts, showcasing the craftsmanship of the 14th century.
