Description
6 East Pallant is an early 18th-century building that may have origins from an earlier period. It has two storeys and an attic, with a lower frontage compared to the adjacent No 5. The building features a low, steeply pitched tiled roof and a low central brick chimney stack. There are two flat-roofed dormers that are partly obscured by a parapet. The exterior is constructed of red brick with a rendered capped parapet. The windows are sash style, with flush boxes; the upper windows have thick glazing bars and painted brick voussoirs, while the lower windows have thinner glazing bars and carved rubbed brick voussoirs with moulded brick cornices above. A similar brick cornice is present over the doorway, which features a panelled door with two fielded panels, two flush panels, and top panels that are cut away and glazed, all within a moulded frame. Inside, there is a fine early 18th-century staircase. Nos 2 to 7 East Pallant form a group.
