Description

This is an 18th-century house of three storeys and three windows, located on the south side of West Pallant. The house is constructed of red brick and has a tiled gabled roof. It stands on a higher frontage than the adjacent number 9. A small cornice with modillions runs below the eaves. The sash windows are set in shallow reveals with wide brick strips on either side, now painted white, and feature rubbed brick voussoirs above; the original glazing bars are intact in all windows. A flight of three steps with an iron handrail leads to a fine doorway framed by a Doric column and pilaster on each side, topped with an entablature featuring a moulded frieze, and a six-panelled door. Numbers 10 and 12 together form a visually cohesive group.
