Description
No 3 East Pallant is an 18th-century building that projects forward from No 2 by about 10 to 12 feet. It has a similar height to No 2 but features a higher roof. The structure consists of two storeys and an attic, along with a basement. It has a steeply pitched tiled saddleback roof with overhanging eaves and three dormers that have hipped tiled roofs. The building was refronted in the 19th century and is stuccoed with three window bays, the central bay projecting slightly forward.
The windows are sash style with square heads set in shallow reveals, featuring flat arches and architraves with roughcast panels and brackets beneath the sills. The ground floor windows have cornices supported by tiny consoles. At the western end, in the westernmost window bay, there is a doorway accessed by five steps. This doorway has a six-panelled door with four fielded panels in shallow reveals, a moulded door frame, and a doorcase with engaged Doric columns topped with an entablature and a rectangular pediment. The flight of steps is flanked by area railings that extend eastwards and a small distance westwards.
Nos 2 to 7 East Pallant form a group.
