Description
Toddington House Stables and Barn, along with a garden shed, are located immediately southeast of Toddington House. This building dates from the 16th century or early 17th century and was originally a timber-framed house, now faced with brick and flints. It is two storeys and has an 'L' plan.
The west front features one window facing south and three facing west. The south end is single storey with a catslide roof, except for a two-storey projection that has a hipped gable over a recessed entrance. There is a tall chimney at the west end with stone quoins and an octagonal stack. Attached to this is a one-storey shed, which is tiled with original Horsham slabs at the base. The main house has a tiled roof with later Horsham slabs at the base and features casement windows.
The east front is two storeys with six windows and includes two modern brick flying buttresses. The casement windows here retain three brick mullions. Inside, there is some panelling. The north side has a catslide roof.
The garden shed, located immediately southeast of the house, has a skew plan with cobbled walls and a thatched roof. The stables, situated to the south of the house, are single storey and timber-built with a slate roof, forming three sides of a rectangle, with the east side serving as a barn. The barn is weatherboarded, with the lower parts constructed of cobble.
