Description
No 2 Baker's Arms Hill is an early 18th-century building constructed with grey brick headers and red brick dressings. The south elevation is rendered, and it features a pitched tile roof. The building has two storeys and attics, with three double-hung sash windows with glazing bars and two blocked windows (bricks coated with tar) on the first floor. The ground floor has four double-hung sash windows with glazing bars, each topped with elaborately moulded brick cornices above the voussoirs. There is one six-panelled door, partly glazed, with a single limestone step and an elaborate pediment-shaped hood supported by consoles, featuring a panelled soffit. The building also includes two attic dormers with hipped roofs and casement windows with glazing bars. No 2 Baker's Arms Hill forms a group with No 6, The Little House, and Nos 3 to 31 (odd) Maltravers Street, as well as Nos 1 on the east side of Baker's Arms Hill.
