Description
Walker House, located at Nos 12 and 14 Tarrant Street, is a pair of late 18th-century terraced houses made of red brick, with the west elevation of No 14 rendered. The buildings feature a hipped slate roof and rise to three storeys. They are adorned with a brick modillion eaves cornice. Each house has one double-hung sash window on the second floor, with No 14 having a tripartite window design. Both houses have a canted bay on the ground and first floors, each containing three double-hung sash windows with glazing bars.
No 12 features a door with a semi-circular fanlight, framed by a plain concentric brick arch. No 14 has a modern door with four fielded panels on its south elevation, and a five-panelled door in a plain reveal, accessed by three limestone steps on the west elevation. The west elevation includes two double-hung sash windows with glazing bars on the first floor and one on the ground floor. Additionally, there is a garden wall to the north made of beach flint with brick dressings.
