Description
The wall to the east of the Church of St. John the Baptist is a boundary feature that dates from the 18th and 19th centuries. It is constructed of red and blue brick, which was once colourwashed, and features a D section coping. On the east side, facing The Green, there is some 20th-century brick buttressing. The wall stands approximately 12 feet high, tapering down to 8 feet, and is built on a plinth. In the center, there is a gate with stone-coped piers and a cambered head opening that has block rusticated jambs, along with a scrolled cast-iron gate.
