Description

Primrose and Phlox Cottages comprise two cottages, with a history extending back to the 16th century at the rear right side, and a front section dating to the 18th century. The rear portion is timber framed with sandstone rubble and brick infilling, while the front facade is of whitewashed brick, topped with a plain tiled roof that is hipped to the right. The cottages are two storeys high, featuring end stacks to the right, a front stack positioned to the right of the centre, and a rear stack on the left. The first floor has four casement windows, two for each cottage. Below, there are four windows, with two placed to the left under a cambered head. A stable-style door is located to the left, protected by a gabled hood (Phlox Cottage). A further door is situated on the right hand return front (Primrose Cottage).
