Description
The Richard Onslow and 119 High Street are former farm outbuildings that have been converted into a shop and a public house. They date from the 17th and 18th centuries, with an extension added to the right in the late 19th century. The building features timber framing on the left side, which is clad in whitewashed brick, while the rear is timber framed and clad in red brick and tile hanging. The front is clad in colourwashed brick with tile hanging above, and the roof has a hipped plain tile design on the right gable end, with a hip roof on the left.
The left side of the building has two storeys, with a stack at the rear where it meets the hip roof range. There is one casement window with flanking shutters on the first floor. Below, there is an angle bay plate glass shop window with a door to the left. The Onslow Arms is set back and features two twelve-pane glazing bar sash windows on the first floor, a similar window on the ground floor to the left, and a curved sash window in a flat roof projecting bay formed by the extension to the right. There is a door in the centre under a flat roof porch supported by braces. The dormered range to the right is not of special interest.
