Description

This is a late 18th-century house in Godalming, with additions and alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of painted brick, with some tile hanging, and has a plain tile roof. The house is two storeys and has two bays, with side outshuts, the one on the right set back. A plinth runs along the base. A 20th-century part-glazed door is located slightly left of centre, sheltered by a canopy, with a recessed area above containing a Sun Insurance plaque. The windows are 20th-century 2-light casements with small panes and tile sills. There is a platband (a decorative band near the top of the facade), and cogged eaves. A lateral stack (chimney) with a cogged table is located on the right. The left-hand outshut has a catslide roof and is blind. At the rear, there are casement windows, and the first floor is tile-hung, with cogged eaves and two hipped gables. The right return side has a tile-hung first floor. Internally, a large recess on the left is a former fireplace location, with the room above retaining a fireplace; the doors are made of wood.
