Description
Great Barn and Old Barn are two barns that have been converted and divided. They date from the 17th century, with 19th and 20th century extensions added to the rear. The structure features a timber frame resting on a rendered plinth on the left, and a rubble plinth with brick dressings, which is whitewashed, on the right. The close stud frame above has whitewashed render infilling, and the roof is covered with plain tiles from the 20th century. The barns are two storeys high with a front stack located to the right. The building consists of six bays, which may have originally been two barns of three bays each placed end to end. The windows are irregularly arranged leaded casements, with five on the first floor and four on the ground floor. There is a large eight-light window situated between the two floors on the left side. Access is provided by doors on the left-hand return front (Old Barn) and the right-hand return front (Great Barn). There is also a single-storey wing and brick wings at the rear.
