Description
Common House is a 17th-century house that was restored in the 20th century. It features a timber frame set on a rendered plinth, with cement render infill and cladding on the ground floor. Above, the house is tile hung, displaying central bands of fishscale pattern and diamond tiles. The roof is plain tiled and hipped to the left. The building has a T-shaped plan with a cross wing to the right and stands two storeys high. The right gable is jettied and has render infill with a decorative frame. There is a large corbelled multiple stack located to the left of center. The first floor has three diamond-pane leaded casement windows, while the ground floor has three windows and a glazed door to the right of center, which is sheltered by a pentice hood porch. The door features a 'Tudor' style arched surround and a ribbed outer door. On the ground floor to the left, there is a square bay window. The right-hand return front displays close studding with rendered infill, some of which features diagonal patterning.
