Description

Tots 'n' Teens is a house that has been converted into a shop. It dates from the late 16th century and was altered and restored in the 20th century. The building features a timber frame with rendered infill, and the ground floor is built in brick. It has a plain tile roof and stands two storeys high with an attic. The structure is one of two bays, with the gable end facing the road, and both the first and second floors are jettied. The shop front, added in the late 20th century, includes plate-glass windows with a wooden surround.

The timber framing on the upper floors includes S-curved braces on the first floor and 20th-century framing with double V struts in the attic. There is a three-light leaded casement window on the first floor and an eight-pane top-hung casement window in the attic. On the right side, the timber framing on the first floor features large arched braces in the front bay, with a three-light window on each floor. There is a flat-roofed single-storey extension at the rear, which is not of special interest.

Inside, the building has chamfered beams, with one spine beam on the ground floor and cyma-moulded joists on the first floor. The roof includes queen strut trusses and curved wind braces.
