Description
The former blacksmiths at Pierrepont Farm, built in the early to mid 19th century, later served as a calf pen. This single-storey structure is constructed of Bargate stone rubble with red brick dressings. It features a hipped roof that is mainly tiled, except for the rear slope, which is covered in corrugated iron sheeting. The front elevation includes a wide casement window flanked by wide doorcases. Inside, the building has three bays, a queen strut roof, and remnants of a brick forge chimney. This purpose-built farm blacksmiths is an unusual survival and is part of a group of farm buildings.
