Description

This is a house dating from the 16th century, significantly remodelled in the 19th century. It’s constructed of timber framing, exposed on the right-hand return front with whitewashed brick and rendered infilling, and with whitewashed brick cladding to the front. The roof is tiled, hipped, with a gablet to the right, and a tile hung gable to the left. The building follows a T-shaped plan with a wing projecting at a right angle to the rear. It has one storey and attics, featuring a large, rebuilt corbelled stack at the junction of the roofs towards the rear of the ridge. The front elevation contains two three-light gabled dormers and two shallow angle bay casements. An attic gable window is located on the left-hand return front, positioned above a cambered head ground floor casement. A door is set into the left-hand return front, sheltered by an open gabled hood.
